Virtual reality simulation for ACL reconstruction

VirtaMed has developed a virtual reality simulation for ACL reconstruction. This new orthopedic training module for knee arthroscopy will be available for the VirtaMed ArthroS™ simulator, and the company will introduce it at the AAOS 2016 conference in Orlando, FL.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most typical knee injuries, and it is particularly common among young athletes. A damaged ACL is usually treated with a minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, where the injured ligament is removed and replaced with a tissue graft.
