IBM Watson, Siemens Partner To Tap Population Health Industry

cufxxp6weaesm3kIBM and Siemens have formed an alliance designed to help hospitals better manage populations of patients in what is becoming a competitive multi-billion-dollar play for the healthcare industry.

In signing a five-year global alliance with Siemens Healthineers, IBM Watson Health said it wants to improve health outcomes for medical provider clients as the U.S. healthcare system moves away from fee-for-service medicine to value-based care. To help better manage populations of patients, IBM says it will be stronger with Siemens, which already has relationships with hospitals through its imaging business.
